Soggy!
Let me say that again Soggy!
Absolutely threw it down and I woke about 6.30 with some water in the tent. Good idea using the inflatable mattress as it kept me off the ground and no water was directly dripping on me.
Took the tent down in the wet using the Costa Rica rainforest cagoul. Then paid - with a couple of hot croissants as I left @ £20 a night. Which was good for free hot showers, WiFi etc.
Then drove to Prague.
Sooner or later if I go far enough South I'll drive somewhere where it isnt raining. Every time I get in the van it rains (and I mean rains heavily).
Picked up an e-vignette for the motorway at the 1st service station. UK was in the "other" countries. Very sad. Smelliest service station I've ever been too - not the toilets but outside!
Arrived at the campsite just after 11 am. and they gave me a pitch straight away.
Put the tent back up in the pouring rain (but it needed to be done). was heavy as it was wet and I can feel the fibreglass poles creaking!
Eventually it dried up a little so I dired and aired what I could of the tent and then headed into Prague on the Brompton.
Prague is a lovely city - the old town is a complete tourist trap but worth an explore.
I don't understand a word of Czech. The telly is on in the campsite bar and normally in most languages I catch a few words.. not here.
Tried to use my Nat West Debit Card and surprise surprise it wasnt having it - and I only had my "fake" (expired) Monzo card with me.
Looked about abut will do more tomorrow. Then headed back to the campsite.
Noticed a kiosk (Hello!) in the train/tram station that had power sockets. Bought food and a Cappucino but the power sockets didnt work!
I'm fated. You can't do without Electricity (or the Internet).
Camp is quite strange. One corner has what appear to be a group of migrant and an old man living in a tent similar to mine. The younger man got dressed soon after I arrived in what I (as an older racist type) would call typical Indian restaurant gear (White shirt, Black Tie) and headed out.
The camp site is very quiet though - in a rich suburban area near the zoo. There are a number of camp sites on this road and they all are in the back gardens of what would have been large houses.
Where's my mouse?
I'm sure I packed one. I'll look again!
By 6 pm. its starting to get quite pleasant (its not raining) - or is that the beer at the campsite restaurant :)
It's noticeable that quite a few people have gone down the Starlink route as I can see their uplinks outside there caravans/vans.
Might buy more beer here as it's cheap and very good. Then the Czech Republic is famous for its beer. £1.55 for 500 ml in the campsite bar is a good deal.
Cars at the campsite - German, Czech, Slovenian, couple of Ukranian and a Danish Caravan (and me).
I haven't seen a UK car number for a couple of days now.
Queenie Kate made the news here - didnt understand a word of it
